"My father was a military man," she says, "he was in Indochina and Algeria. My mother was coquettish. She made her own clothes and dressed up in high heels." Dalle left home for Paris when she was fifteen and spent five years living from hand to mouth, staying with friends, hitting the nightclub scene, before being spotted by a fashion photographer in the Champs- Elysees. One of her pictures appeared on the cover of Photo magazine and was seen by the casting director of 1986's Betty Blue.
